Harold Ford coming to town
Want to remind Harold Ford that there are Liberals in Tennessee?
Here's the announcement from the HamDems.org web site about Harold coming to Chattanooga:
Harold Ford Jr. will be at the Sheraton hotel on Broad Street this coming
Thursday night to speak.
"Please Join Us on Thursday, April 12
For a Celebration honoring
THE HAMILTON COUNTY DEMOCRATIC PARTY
HAROLD FORD, JR., Special Guest Speaker
In appreciation of our outgoing and incoming leaders
and all our supporters and volunteers
The Sheraton Read House
Silver Ballroom
5:30 to 7 P.M. (Program begins at 6:15 P.M.)"
I plan on helping with a "meeting committee" on the sidewalk outside the event,
and invite you and yours to participate, starting at 4:45PM. Bring your own signs. Also, bring some food as some homeless folks will be coming for dinner.
I want Harold and the Press that will cover the event to be aware of
Chattanooga's homeless crisis, and how domestic issues are a Consequence of the Truth about U.S. military spending.

Harold is the new chair of the DLC - Democratic Leadership Council.
This has been called the "Centrist Wing of the Democratic Party"
"Founded in 1985 after President Ronald Reagan's reelection, the Democratic
Leadership Council (DLC) is a non-profit group that represents centrist and
conservative Democratic party leaders.
Liberal critics contend that the DLC is a corporate mouthpiece which doesn't
fight for the interests of everyday and downtrodden Americans, the traditional
base of the Democratic party.
While the liberal wing of the Democratic party focuses on the Iraq War and
foreign policy as its centerpiece issues for 2006 and 2008, the DLC, and Senator
Hillary Clinton, believe that focus on the needs of individual Americans will
resonate more strongly when voters cast their ballots."
